Status : Regular, Full Time

Shift Hours: This is a night shift position, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights 6:30 pm to 6:30 am.

Position Overview:

As a member of the Cartridge Engineering team, you will contribute to the team’s success by supporting manufacturing in Assembly, and Component Manufacturing. To do this, you will investigate process and equipment failures as they occur, perform root cause analysis, and work with operations, other support engineers, and the Monday to Friday engineering staff to ensure equipment and process interruptions are kept to a minimum.

The primary focus of this position is manufacturing sustenance. Some project work however will be assigned.

There will be some involvement with investigations and documentation of findings and disposition decisions in the Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) system. As such, CAPA certification will be required.


  • Responsible for planning and conducting medium-sized assigned projects requiring conventional types of plans, investigations and/or equipment.

  • Independently execute assigned tasks by applying standard engineering theories, concepts and techniques.

  • Create/modify designs for intermediate problems; design/modify complex components and/or processes; write detailed design specifications.

  • Responsible for completing documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with business standards.

  • Participate on cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.

  • Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining effectiveness of Quality System.

  • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as may be required.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.

  • Proven technical, creative, teamwork and implementation skills to contribute to product manufacturability and performance.

  • Strong written stills are mandatory.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with any of the following areas would be an asset: technical writing, data analysis, experimental design, statistical process control, ISO/FDA regulations, risk management/FMEA methods, and the CAPA system.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Science or related discipline)

  • Minimum 1-3 years in an Engineering role
