Status: Regular/Full Time

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor Manufacturing Operations you will provide leadership to the Test Lab Manufacturing Operations Team to ensure alignment of Ottawa Manufacturing Excellence with Division long and short term goals.

Prepare, organize, prioritize and allocate work load among team members according to business needs.

Provide coaching, mentoring and development opportunities for staff. Conduct performance appraisals and make recommendations regarding staffing, hiring, retention, promotion, salary adjustments, discipline and dismissal to senior management for the 4x4 A/B Extended Shifts.

Responsible for conducting daily huddle and completing shift report daily. Responsible for monitoring departmental metrics and drive to achieve or exceed expectation

Responsible for departmental procedures and ensuring team members understand their roles and follow procedures. Provide positive feedback on accomplishments and ensure immediate action is taken to address shortfalls

Responsible for the manufacturing and delivery of assigned products in a safe and compliant manner.

75% of work hours devoted to working in the Test Lab, Manufacturing Operations.

Recommend and implement productivity improvements and process changes.

Develop training plans in conjunction with trainers/Lead Hands and ensure 100% compliance to training requirements.

Motivate employees through interpersonal interactions on a regular basis, mentoring, fostering creativity, innovation and empowerment. Promote a positive and professional work environment.

Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure Operations are compliant with quality guidelines. Ensure that corrective action is taken in a timely fashion for any operational non-conformance.

Accountable for recording vacation, time off and or any additional information in Vacation Focus, Timekeeper or in any other form of applications for all staff

Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures and guidelines.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure that safety policies and procedures are observed.

Miscellaneous other duties as may be required.

Education and Experience

College Diploma (3 year program) or equivalent work experience.

Typically requires 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Experience supervising, mentoring and developing staff.

Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is an asset.

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own work and the work of others to meet established schedules.

Ability to make decisions with sound judgment and execute on such decisions with quantifiable results.

Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.

Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.

Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications.

Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.

Ability to lead, motivate and develop employees to ensure safety, quality and performance.

Must be willing to work with bio hazardous materials in a controlled environment.
