The Cyber Security Engineer will conduct security monitoring, initial triage and analysis, incoming notification management, related data collection or event enrichment, and may conduct initial victim notifications.
Must be prepared and able to protect Abbott’s assets and information resources from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording or destruction.
Leads analysis of intelligence data as it pertains to the security of the corporate enterprise environment Uses the Threat Assessment Model for the Abbott’s Computer Threat Action Center (CTAC) as a ‘living process’ capable of necessary evolution in different security postures and environments.
Provides technical, proactive threat assessments of Abbott systems and networks understood to be at risk Monitors and reports on trending or emerging cyber threats applicable to Abbott systems and networks
Creates Intelligence Assessments with appropriate levels of clearance for multiple audiences
Participates in and supports the implementation, development, enhancements, and modifications to software source code, scripts, and procedures to embedded across IT, OT and Medical Technologies
Contributes to and supports a variety of test phase efforts e.g. Penetration tests, audit procedure, risk control framework, certifications and coordinate remediation
Understands the process of developing and refining Intelligence Requirements as an output of the Threat Assessment Model
Is familiar with assessing the Modus Operandi (MO) of groups of interest and reporting key motivators and targets
Understands Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) and Computer Network Attack (CNA) tools and tradecraft and the hallmarks of their usage in logging and behavior
Recognizes signatures, tactics, techniques and procedures associated with preparation for and execution/implementation of CNE/CNA attacks
Investigates security events and/or incidents as required by CTAC leader
Interacts with and participates in meetings of local/regional security organizations (ISC2, DC612, OWASP, NAISG) for off-wire intelligence
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, and Mathematics, Engineering, Business or area of functional responsibility preferred, or equivalent 7 years of industry work experience
GICSP, CISSP, CEH or equivalent certification preferred
Experience in supporting security response
Experience in Healthcare industry or other heavily regulated industry i.e. DOD, DOE, NSA
Practical experience in security engineering, applied cryptography and authentication standards
Experience developing and rolling out secure application development classes
Experience with Android and iOS security and testing background
Demonstrated ability to handle technical challenges
High degree of knowledge on deployed operating systems
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
