Our location in Plano, TX currently has an opportunity for a Senior Lead Desk Top Publishing . Working under minimal supervision, this role leads a team to produce printed and on-line product labeling in over 30 languages using a variety of common desktop publishing software programs. The Lead may also handle projects as necessary.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Assign and track Desk Top Publishing projects along with prioritizing requested deadlines.
Maintain a highly functional team by ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to through coaching, disciplining and praising employees.
Enhance productivity by finding inefficiency and recommending solutions.
Provide objective input for performance evaluations of the team members in a specific area.
Communicate job expectations, monitor and appraise results.
Review new labeling for appropriate formatting.
Work with the Localization Manager and Localization Coordinators to ensure all objectives are met or exceeded.
Collaborate with technical publications personnel in developing, implementing, and revising document design templates.
Produce artwork and output for printed materials using various computer-based desktop publishing programs in compliance with requirements.
Convert electronic files from DTP applications to PDF and/or HTML.
Page-proof English and translated manuals to ensure that the formatting is correct and that the content of translations matches the source document.
Scans, convert, and edit vector and bitmap images using standard graphic and image-editing applications.
Maintain electronic and hard-copy files of projects generated within the department in compliance with GMP requirements.
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
High school diploma
Minimum of 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in multi-platform computer publishing, the ability to quickly learn new application software, expert competence in English spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Expert keyboard and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must possess advanced personal computer skills, including thorough experience with Microsoft Office (together with Excel and Word), FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign, or equivalent applications.
Possesses a broad working knowledge of company products and the FDA and international requirements for manual publication.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Experience managing at least one direct report.
