Under general direction, works independently to design new automated test designs, fixtures, tools and processes and maintain existing products in a fast-paced cross-functional design environment. Provides instruction, oversight, and mentoring to other design engineers. Stays current on new technologies and design practices and utilizes them in new designs. Exhibits quality in their work and pushes for excellence in themselves and others.
Ownership of automated test system design cycle from requirements through product launch. Test systems require various design elements including. embedded firmware, hardware circuit/pcb design, and software test applications
Applies advanced engineering and scientific principles to circuit designs, software/firmware development, simulations and test data to determine optimal design choices and solutions to issues
Responsible for developing new designs independently while effectively leveraging other team members
Plans and coordinates design activities with larger product development and manufacturing team to assure project completion
Investigates and addresses key issues with existing test system products and supports various R&D and manufacturing teams
Mentors and trains other design engineers
This is a non-supervisory role
Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering or related field
7+ years of relevant test system design experience
Demonstrated expertise in embedded firmware design
Demonstrated expertise in mixed signal automated testing, including circuit design and analysis.
Knowledge of sound electrical hardware and software/firmware design principles and practices as well as experience with configuration control and defect management tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization
D esired Qualifications
Relevant Master’s degree or higher is a plus
Experience with MSP430 microcontroller
Experience with BLE communication protocol
Experience with C#.
Experience with medical device design
