The Patient Therapy Access (“PTA”) Sr. Data Analyst supports key initiatives related to prior authorization activities, policy related coverage and driving market access across key medical device therapies for Abbott. The PTA Sr. Data Analyst will work with PTA and business leadership to provide supporting research and market performance deliverables that assist with customer reimbursement education, support alignment, and patient access performance results. Additionally, the position requires a thorough understanding of database relationships and the ability to extract information from databases using complex query statements and advanced database tools.
Works across functions within the business to develop tools, programs and messages that support and enable access to and use of Abbott therapy solutions by commercial and Medicare healthcare providers within the US.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with internal Abbott stakeholders including but not limited to, Finance, Marketing, Sales Operations, Healthcare Economics and Reimbursement, Corporate and National Accounts, and Sales divisions.
Participates in assigned cross-departmental meetings and conference calls for the purpose of providing input and guidance regarding market dynamics, performance metrics, system enhancement projects and issues needing focus, attention and action.
Analyzes trends relating to current authorization practices, coverage decisions, reform activities, private payers, Medicare and workers compensation administrators and how they impact the Abbott product portfolio.
Collects, manipulates and analyzes data from multiple data sources to obtain answers to support business processes.
Facilitates and/or performs data clean-up activities as needed within the Sales Force database.
Utilizes multiple business systems to enter, extract and correct data. Interacts with internal customers, as needed, to understand and review data issues and maintain data integrity used in commercial operations.
Runs reports, creates summaries of data and distributes information proactively on a regular basis as well as when requested.
Assists in dissemination information contained within the “Abbott reimbursement tool box” for use by PTA case managers and leadership.
Maintains data and privacy integrity by conferring with Privacy, Legal and Compliance to vet data requests against intended audience.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
Have a minimum of 3 years of medical device and / or pharmaceutical industry data analytics.
Have advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel Pivot tables, SQL, and R.
Have the ability to understand complex and technical information.
Have strong project management and prioritization skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines in timely manner.
Have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Have strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
Have experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
