This position has responsibility for developing clinical marketing strategy and driving timely execution of its tactics to accelerate growth drivers as new standards of care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Partners to develop strategic clinical marketing plans and lead execution of tactics to accelerate market development for the Company’s growth drivers to become new standards of care.

  • Helps lead KOL and medical society advocacy to support driving clinical evidence into guidelines and clinical practice.

  • Partner with product marketing, R&D, regulatory and clinical to develop clinical insight and data development roadmaps for programs at various stages of launch; manage project plans

  • Develops and drives clinical messaging, conference and podium plans for effective dissemination of clinical evidence via podium and other communications vehicles at industry conferences.

  • Collaborates with Product Marketing, Clinical Affairs, and Medical Affairs to develop publication plan and review of publications.

  • Compose and lead cross functional teams to develop communication and launch plans for significant clinical achievements

  • Develop strong working knowledge of EP technologies

  • Monitor and document EP technologies on the market and in development, understanding product positioning, targeting and product strength; develop internal communications relative to these activities

  • Develop and disseminate communications to positioning of Abbott technologies, including relative to the competition or blunt competitive messaging. Develops peer-to-peer enablement tools (including clinical compendiums, case studies, white papers, slide presentations) to effectively deliver clinical messaging and data to targeted audiences.

  • Develop internal clinical communications to educate field personnel on new products and publications (company and competitive) to drive effective discussions with customers.

  • Monitor and document industry trends including product, clinical and guideline updates

  • Organize and lead cross functional teams to cover scientific sessions at major conferences and report key findings in a timely manner.

  • Assures scientific integrity and accuracy in all presentations, materials, and publications developed by Clinical Marketing.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Lifesciences or related field

  • A minimum of 8 plus years of experience with progressively more responsibilities in Marketing, Sales, Clinical/Medical Affairs, and/or Clinical Engineering.

  • Solid grasp of commercialization process, marketing, and market development principles

  • Ability to work with KOLs and medical societies; established relationships with KOLs/medical societies in the relevant specialties preferred

  • Medical device industry experience in electrophysiology, preferably mapping and ablation

  • Ability to analyze clinical data and scientific publications, identifying and effectively communicating relevant key takeaways

  • Ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, matrixed, geographically diverse and changing environment.

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects

  • Ability to travel approximately 25%, including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Marketing, Engineering, Lifesciences, Nursing or related academic field preferred.

  • Experience developing markets and changing clinical practice preferred
