Primary Job Function

Responsible to lead the effective management of complex Product Life Cycle Management cross-functional programs that facilitates business growth in an evolving business environment. Management of programs requires intra- and inter-company elements and relationships and cultivating a culture of accountability.

Core Job Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional teams in the development of products from concept to launch or the launch of products into new markets; manages multiple, often concurrent projects/ programs that are complex and require the management of intra- as well as inter-company elements and relationships. Manages large global; cross-functional strategic initiatives from development of overall strategic plans and objectives to executable and integrated programs and processes. Identifies integration points across the project/processes and coordinates the improvements with key stakeholders and process owners to maximize value delivery. Establishes and drives success through the reinforcement of project management processes and systems and serves as a champion to assure adherence. Drives accountability into functional organizations by installing rigor and process that improves efficiency and output. Effectively communicates across all levels of executive and senior management and can influence without direct authority. Responsible and accountable for all aspects of the program including the determination of product requirements, facilitation of program planning, tracking program costs and schedules, updates and other communications to the program team and other stakeholders, and ensuring that the delivered product meets the customer's expectations (internal or external) for quality and functionality. Analyze complex problems and identify areas of risk; mitigate program and execution risks through early risk assessments and implementation of mitigation strategies while ensuing timely issues resolution and escalation plans with executive management. Coaches and develops subject matter experts/ team members and ensures continuing development of their skills. Establishes a culture of project management through the identification; training and cultivation of functional and local project managers who work within the overall program to deliver individual projects and outcomes. Responsible for developing and maintaining management tools to track and report status across the program scope. Defines success through the establishment of monitoring plans to track key metrics and KPIs. Responsible for ensuring completion of documentation per FDA QSR & global quality management standards in a timely manner and in accordance with business standards; Travel up to 30% of the time both domestically and internationally by any means necessary to support organizational goals. Lead and act as a trusted advisor; balance bottom line objectives with long-term interests of the customer. Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations; Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

Individual contributor; position has no headcount or budgetary responsibility. May oversee the work of others; will represent the program in meetings & executive updates; may provide mentoring in technical or organizational areas; may monitor the improvement of others; may provide constructive and timely feedback; may participate in the evaluation of assigned staff or project team members and in the identification of development needs; may assign work to team and/or project members; will collaborate with resource managers to assign staff to program / project tasks.

Position Accountability / Scope

This position operates with limited direction from PMO leadership and has full responsibility to make decisions that directly impact project goal achievement. Exercises considerable latitude in determining project / program objectives; completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results; develops a set of viable alternatives for management; relates risk and gain to

critical success factors and recommends actions; makes decisions, recommendations and sets meeting project / program expectations to achieve critical organizational objectives and business needs; drives functional performance to ensure that cross-functional standards and expectations are met; responsible for achieving the project / program's financial targets in support of the business objectives; controls budget to meet authorized funding, as agreed to by management; may assist in the training of personnel as directed by management; may mentor others

Preferred Education

4-year university degree preferably in Engineering or Science discipline

PMP/MBA/ Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

Preferred Experience/Training Required

•8 + years of experience in project management and delivery of high impact improvement projects or programs.

•Business, technical, manufacturing, quality or supply chain experience in a healthcare/medical company required

• 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams

•Knowledge of FDA QSR/ CE quality management directives

•Detail oriented with a strong process background

Candidates / incumbents should possess the following:

  • Background and experience leading complex strategic programs across the business- Commercial, NPI, & Operations, Business Analytics

  • Skilled in effective leadership, planning, analysis and communication

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; demonstrated good judgment

  • Ability to be creative in achieving objectives while assuring compliance to internal and external requirements

  • Ability to utilize contemporary project management tools to assist in the development of and adherence to a schedule and prioritize sub-projects & related tasks

  • Ability or aptitude to work on problems that are complex in scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors

  • Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior

  • Ability to work independently and in groups; ability to work cross-functionally

  • Ability and aptitude to use various types of databases and other computer software- Advanced Excel modelling
