Abbott Quality Reliability Engineer II in Scottsdale, Arizona

Works closely with Development / Manufacturing / Quality Engineering teams to establish and ensure compliance and quality reliability. Ensure quality of products conform to established standards and agency regulations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands and develops concept of operation for the product/design; applies use model to each design level where appropriate

  • Familiar with reliability block diagrams and prediction models associated with electronic circuits

  • Exposure to physics of failure and the associated life models

  • Ability to produce insights from the application of statistical models to different types of data

  • Proficient in the presentation and reporting of gathered findings

  • Works well independently as well as with a cross-functional team

  • Experience with medical device industry a plus

  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing a plus

  • Exposure to laboratory principles and techniques a plus

  • Must understand how to assess design induced use conditions and calculate subsequent derating for each component in our application

  • Must be able to predict longevity/survival of a component based on known use conditions

  • Must be able to link potential reliability issues to screening strategies

  • Must be able to link between test specs & hybrid design requirements

  • Knowledge of de-rating analysis/design margin analysis for electromechanical products

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelors Degree - Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

0 - 2 Years’ Experience:

  • Strong competency in statistics and expertise in analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, JMP, Reliasoft (R or Python exposure a plus)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong critical thinking and influencing skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization

  • Ability to work with cross-functional and cross-cultural global teams and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects

  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
