Abbott Regional Service Manager Northern Europe (UK based) in Solihull, United Kingdom

Our growing Capital Equipment Service team is recruiting for an experienced Regional Services Manager to support Northern Europe (from the UK), ensuring all customer and business needs are met. This individual will be responsible for the day to day service on capital equipment systems across Northern Europe, through leadership and coaching of the field service team. The Regional Service Manager will ensure resource utilization and customer satisfaction are balanced in the most cost effective manner in line with established budgets, policies and quality standards, monitor team performance and issue status reports as well as fostering alignment with additional business partners. Working on continuous improvement, this leader will drive programs striving to be the best in class Field Service Team, and at the same time, advocate a safe working environment and policy compliance.

Summary responsibilities:

  • Manages Service Level Achievement through proper service lead qualification, tactical decision making, event prioritization and strives for rapid field response / resolution

  • Guarantee preventive maintenance execution per defined objectives and follow up on adequate execution

  • Responsible for the governance of inputs to services database as a requirement of the field service organization

  • Check reports on quality and "status" by supervising the documentation of field service interventions per QA system

  • Escalate non-solved issues and work with stakeholders on action plans

  • Drive & report the defined Service KPI's by developing and maintaining performance reports on a periodic basis including team/individual productivity and operational metrics, service quality scorecards, and contractual fulfillment

  • Ensures resources meet / exceed contractual commitments and team / function objectives

  • Hire, manage, and ensure proper training, development, and career coaching for the team

  • Establish and maintain technical training quality metrics that ensure training strategy and curriculum meets the field service needs

  • Maintain awareness of and compliance with all Abbott Quality policies and processes, as well as applicable laws and regulations

  • Plans for acquisition and effective deployment of company assets (demo systems, tools, test equipment, etc.)

  • Assists in the management / development of customer relationships that keep and / or make Abbott the service provider of choice

  • Responsible for supporting the Sales organization in maintaining / increasing market share in respective sales territories

  • Required to follow-up on qualified leads, perform marketing activities, fact finding, configurations, proposals and frequent customer visits as related to Product offering and capital service business

  • Executes on operational and financial growth initiatives and targets, cost control measures and process improvements

  • Captures best practices and provides input to improve operational and quality procedures and processes for the improvement of installation, training, and field services

  • Ensures collaboration at the local level with other field elements of organization; encourages accountability, shares ownership / visibility, defines success in terms of "one" team

  • Maintains professional / academic / industry contacts and improves technical knowledge by participating in professional organizations, reviewing technical papers / literature and attending appropriate meetings and seminars and workshops

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Biological Sciences or a field related equivalent, with significant service experience alongside. Clinical or service experience within cardiology/ electrophysiology would be advantageous. Candidates must have demonstrated experience at a supervisory/managerial level. Candidates should highly developed leadership and coaching skills as well as excellent interpersonal/communications skills in order to operate successfully in a very collaborative role. Speaking an additional European language(s) is a plus. The successful applicant will need to be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to travel extensively within the region (Northern Europe), although a significant portion of this travel will be isolated to the UK. Candidates must be UK-based, with proximity to the Solihull office and an airport a strong preference.
