Provides cost accounting and financial planning & analysis to management for the assigned manufacturing sites. Performs manufacturing variance analysis, inventory analysis, and management reporting of operating results. Provides input into the development of manufacturing site’s operating plan & quarterly forecasts.

Job Duties:

Performs financial planning and analysis activities for assigned entity/ies which may include any combination of the following areas: standard costing, gross margin analysis, cost modeling, inventory analysis, change order maintenance, metric & management reporting, month end closing, workforce planning, capital review/approval, cash flow management, finance system planning, etc.

  • Provides standard reports to management due to solid knowledge of finance systems and familiarity of the entity operations

  • Maintains standard cost accounting system in SAP

  • Works with manufacturing engineers to update BOMs and labor routing

  • Supports monthly close cycle, records journal entries, analyzes performance and prepares management reports & commentary

  • Prepares and analyzes actual operating results compared to plan and forecast and verifies, investigates and quantifies variances and their impact

  • Based on reporting and analysis, makes recommendations to finance management and to assigned client groups within business unit

  • Participates on special projects as assigned by finance management

  • Executes annual goals as assigned based on entity/ies operating plans and department goals

  • Works with site controller to prepare annual operating budget and quarterly rolling forecasts

General Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 or more years of progressive experience in cost accounting and financial planning & analysis. Experience in a medical device industry preferred

  • Must have strong experience and proficiency with finance/accounting related software packages (SAP preferred)

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment

  • Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally
