The position of Senior Lyophilization Engineer is located in Auburn, NY. This role will include providing technical support toward the accomplishment of manufacturing and product development objectives. The primary responsibility of the individual is the production and maintenance of the Technical Manufacturing.

Hours: Thursday-Monday 6am-2pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Coordinates the work of manufacturing operators around the lyo process, but does not directly have any reports.

  • Maintains good manufacturing/laboratory practices (GMP or GLP), orderly and accurate paperwork, quality systems, and maintaining the integrity of manufactured product.

  • Makes advanced technically based decisions that are important to present and future products and is responsible for disseminating the technical findings to other functional areas of the company

  • Responsiblefor leading and managing product/process testing projects

  • Assistsin manufacturing production solutions as dictated by the production schedule

  • SupportsTracking and Trending Analysis Program

  • Mayconduct root cause analysis on product failures, including proposals forpreventive actions

  • Schedulestest programs and management of workload to help assure timely and satisfactorycompletion of projects

  • Maintainsgood verbal and written communication skills and provides timely and accuratereporting both internally and externally

  • Responsiblefor the preparation of equipment for production cycle

  • Responsiblefor the evaluation of cycle success/failure based on batch results

  • Responsiblefor interfacing production and maintenance for PM and EM

  • Consultswith and provides technical evaluations for other departments (Manufacturing,Development, etc.)

  • Maywork with test requestors to develop test programs, formulate test protocols,and choose appropriate test equipment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor'sdegree (BS) in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or mechanicalengineering

  • Minimumof 5 years’ experience in cGMP production environment

  • Experiencewith Lyophilization equipment preferred

  • Experienceoptimizing lyophilization manufacturing processes (freeze cycles, dryingcycles, total cycle time) preferred

  • Experiencein reagent or chemical processing preferred
