Abbott Point-of-Purchase Development Manager in Taguig City, Philippines

The Point-of-Purchase (POP) Development Manager is responsible for (a) extending brand communications in-store through planning and executing POP activities; (b) managing third party merchandisers who execute in-store brand plans, promotions, and POP activities; and (c) managing ANI’s display contracts in supermarkets and drugstores.

The incumbent has to work closely with suppliers, retailers, marketing, finance, and the trade sales teams to identify and maximize in-store merchandising opportunities.

Direct Reports : 1; manages 500+ third party merchandiser field force

Sensitive/ confidential data handled: A&P Budgets (for Marketing in-store programs, displays and other POP activities; display contracts in supermarkets and drugstores); OPEX Budget (for Merchandisers/3rd party); Marketing plans

Key Areas of Accountability:

  1. Merchandisers c/o Third Party Agency:

Set guidelines for, and execute, nationwide merchandiser coverage Manage budget of third party (OPEX) Set, track, and review third party KPIs Coordinate with Channel Team on promo and activation details; cascade all details

to third party

Coordinate with Marketing and Channel on a Point-of-purchase plan for the brands, aligned to shopper journey and guided by shopper communication priorities

Develop and execute POP materials in coordination with Purchasing and Suppliers

Supermarket and Drugstore Display Rental Manage display rental budgets Coordinate with Channel and Field Sales on display rental plan for the channels Monitor and review actual implementation in both supermarkets and drug stores

  1. Store Space Management

Prepare merchandising guidelines for regular and secondary displays, and for promotions Supervise development and execution of specific in-store shelf planograms (prepared by contractor)

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Supervisory or individual contributor experience in field sales, trade marketing, or merchandising, preferably in the fast-moving consumer goods industry

  • First-hand experience in working with merchandising agencies is preferred

Minimum Qualification:

  • College education - preferably Marketing or Business Management Graduate

  • With at least two years previous work experience in Trade Sales, Trade Marketing, or Merchandising (including a stint as Key Account Manager / Supervisor or Distributor Manager/ Supervisor)
