Abbott Medical affair Manager in Tokyo, Japan

Medical Affairs Manager works closely with Key physicians to develop future therapies as well as advance current therapies through educational events, advisory boards, investigator initiated studies, and other activities. The Medical Affairs Manager works closely with the commercial organization to develop strategic plans for current and future therapies and to develop detailed action plans with respect to the areas above. The Medical Affairs Manager is responsible for the budgeting and planning of key activities and managing the Medical Affairs team.

KOL Management

  • Liaison to senior KOL management

  • Support the efforts of Professional Associations, Academic Societies, Educational Foundations (Kenkyu-kai) and Patient Support Groups

  • Develop strategic program and execute as required working with senior KOLs in alignment with commercial organization

Establish new therapy and accelerate new product launch

  • Advisory Board Management:

  • Initiate and lead development and execution of Advisory Board Meeting to establish new therapy, new product and support existing business in conjunction with commercial organization.

  • Collaborate with educational foundations groups to establish new therapy in Japan

  • Investigator Sponsored Studies Management:

  • Manage ongoing studies and develop new studies with Japanese KOL physicians

  • Develop strategy in conjunction with commercial team for new studies related to AVJ products

  • Collaborate with APAC and US Medical Affairs Teams

Professional Education

  • Informational Service

  • Formulate publications plans, and the reporting of ISS results to key stakeholders, at scientific meetings and through journal articles

  • Create and manage a material database with speaker slides to support KOLs at major conferences in conjunction with commercial team

  • Support development of PMDA required physician’s training program for new therapies to support KOL involvement

  • Support gathering information related adverse event and sharing appropriate procedure techniques for prevention of adverse event with safety committee’s KOL physicians for new therapies

Support RA and Clinical team

  • Support C and RA:

  • Support to develop strategy, plan and execution of Post Marketing Evaluation (PME) in collaboration with CS and RA

  • Support development of protocol strategy and implementation with KOL for new product clinical studies in collaboration with Clinical and RA

Requirement and preference

  • Industry and product knowledge.

  • Strong understanding of clinical strategy development and clinical trial management

  • • Strong working knowledge of sales force process and ability to assess market drivers• Ability to build strong relationships with key customers and opinion leaders• Organizational Awareness; Strong Influencing and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well with multiple functional teams (sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, etc.)

  • • Excellent spoken and written English and local language skills
