Abbott Sales Manager Coronary Finland & Baltics in Vantaa, Finland

We are looking for a Sales Manager Coronary to join our team in Finland & Baltics. We have an office in Vantaa and the product we are working with is Stents, balloons, guidewires, Pressurewires and Coronary imaging with OCT.

Primary objective of the position

  • Understand the dynamics of the market, the healthcare and economic environment to identify opportunities to grow Abbotts market share.

  • Develop and document strategic objectives for area of accountability and translate into operating plans to grow sales and profit in line with agreed targets.

  • Build and lead a high performance organization to deliver operating plans by hiring, training, coaching and developing direct reports, making best use of Abbott resources.

  • Individually responsible for Coronary sales in Finland and also for servicing the current customer base through the team, increasing sales within that base and establishing new accounts.

  • Ensure operational integrity, compliance with Abbott business practices and policies, legislative, clinical and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide all forecasts, business reports and information flows as required by the company on a timely basis.

  • Role model Abbott values and ensure all in-country activities maintain a positive customer perception of the Abbott brand.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To gain specific knowledge of Abbotts’ Coronary portfolio and become product expert and assist where appropriate.

  • To work with, support and interact with all agents/distributor within the region.

  • To interact with physicians, their assistants, hospital education staff and Field staff to support questions related to Abbotts’ Coronary portfolio.

  • To conduct training sessions related to Abbotts’ Coronary portfolio and its clinical use.

  • Maintain business operations in accordance with corporate policies with respect to pricing, quotes, credit terms, and expense reporting.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge/awareness of competitive products.

  • Assist in identifying product line extensions or product enhancements and develop and submit proposals with respect to these product changes.

  • To prepare and maintain the equipment co-operation with the Capital Equipment service team.

  • Continuously up-dates knowledge of: - current and emerging technical trends in heart disease therapies.

  • market dynamics in terms of region health care budgets and reimbursement legislation.

  • Abbott local market opportunities and threats including competitors’ offerings.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with local Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) to encourage their continuous input on conventional therapies/technologies, emerging technologies and patient requirements.

  • Assesses capabilities of the local organization objectively and identifies potential for development in terms of Abbott competitive advantage, market coverage, brand image and cost structure.

  • Operates in an ethical, disciplined and orderly way, focusing on the achievement of agreed marketing objectives and protecting the value of the company property or resources wherever possible.

  • Analyses and documents strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) relevant to the organization.

  • Specifies the overall organizational design and headcount required to achieve strategic and operating goals in the light of local business conditions and forecasts.

  • Ensures cross-divisional input is used appropriately in developing sales offerings.

  • Intervenes when necessary to address any non-compliance with agreed sales approaches and policies .

  • Addresses performance management issues urgently and takes corrective action.

  • Rewards employees appropriately, in line with Abbott policies, to build a high performance business culture.

  • Controls costs in line with annual expense operating plans.

  • Behaves at all times as a role model for the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.

  • Ensure that all the employees within your responsibility continuously are in compliance with Abbott requirements in reporting and device returning of Field Event Reports (PER).

Educational background and Work Experience

  • Commercial/Business Education or an Education as an Engineer (electrotechnic) with at least 5 years’ experience in the Medical Device Business.

  • Knowledge of the market.

  • General Finance- and Management Skills.

  • Sales and Negotiation Skills.

  • English fluent Finnish fluent.

  • Microsoft Windows and Office (WORD, PowerPoint, Excel, etc,).

  • Good Coach, communicator, self-manager, self-motivator.

  • Good Organizational skills.

  • Good Leadership skills.
