We have an exciting opportunity as the Rapid DiagnosticsLogistics Manager Transportation within Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) business located at Lake Forest – Chicago, Illinois. The RDx Logistics Manager Transportation will lead global transportation modes to drive synergies across all Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Business Units and Abbott Division synergies, optimizing customer service and rates. Additionally, this role will lead the development and delivery of savings driven by efficiencies and other value creation opportunities.
Transportation execution with primary emphasis onfreight forwarding and road shipments.
Meet and exceed customer expectations as measured byKPIs.
Lead development and execution for global covid testportfolio customer fulfillment
Lead strategic sourcing process for transportationprograms including quantitative data driven analysis, marketplace benchmarking,developing comprehensive feedback to influence and drive desired outcomeresulting in division value.
Build contingency plans to accommodate unexpected transportationdelays
Build and develop strategic supplier relationships inorder to influence and deliver results for key division initiatives andoperational outcomes especially during times of urgent customer demands
Proactively identify and lead efficiencyopportunities from initiation through execution including positivelyinfluencing key stakeholders for alignment and support. Opportunities result inorganizational value including improved customer service, additional providerservices and/or cost savings.
Independent problem solver - leverage data analytics,present recommendation to key stakeholders and align on path forward
Deliverannual logistics savings goals that are aligned with all Business Units throughidentification, development and execution of savings, efficiency opportunities,cost avoidance etc.Leads contingencyplan development in the event a gap to goal is identified.
Executeand contribute to the identification and development of strategic logistics opportunitiesand operational efficiencies to create “win-win” for Abbott and strategicproviders.
Supportthe commitment of company funds for logistics services
Actsas Lead for specific global, regional and local providers and responsible forleading partnership development and Lead for division supply chain operationsleaders collaborating to resolve operational issues with providers - Recognizedas the RDX Americas logistics category SME.
Developcomprehensive RDX logistics category knowledge.Strong working knowledge of operations.
Build andmaintain a multi-functional network of stakeholders (upstream, downstream, andpeer) in order to ensure that any strategy supports the needs of the business,and to facilitate initial buy-in, ongoing engagement, and support for executionof the global strategy at all levels.
Bachelor’sDegree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Finance, Economics,Industrial Engineering or similar field from an accredited university,required.
6+ years in a supply chain, transportation andlogistics planning role - with emphasis in transportation freight forwardingand over-the-road transportation modes, required.
6 + years of strategic sourcing experience includingnegotiation leadership to drive efficiency, value and savings.
Strongproject management skills
Strong data analytics skills and ability to leveragedata to support recommendations for key initiatives., and reportKPI metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
Experience and creativity to assess a situation andfind solutions that are aligned with leadership direction and expectedoutcomes.
Proficiencyin Advanced Excel, including excel macros, SQL queries, mining databases requiringcomplex excel analysis.
Highly proficient in written and oralcommunications and be able to produce concise, relevant, strategically drivendocuments and presentations to leaders
Ability toinfluence and network in large, complex highly matrixed and cross-functional globalorganizations.
Gets things done in a complex environment, using goodjudgement to make well-reasoned decisions, even with less than perfectinformation.Acts with a sense ofurgency, and willingly takes on tactical roles as necessary to achieveobjectives.
Manages and executes multiple priorities in a fastpace environment, in a timely manner across multiple projects.
Root cause problem solving – identifies problem,works with the extended team to frame it, determine root cause, drive topotential solutions, build and present a business case, and communicateeffectively to leadership to garner support.
Up to 20% Travel required, Internationally.
CompletedMaster's Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Finance, Economics,Industrial Engineering or similar field from an accredited university.
Stronginitiative, work ethic and problem-solving skills
Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma manufacturingconcepts, preferred
Extensive experience in the groundtransportation, freight forwarding, airline, cargo ground handling or airfreight industry
CSCP, CPIM, SCOR-P, CPSM CPSD, CSCMP, CPL, or CPCM certification(s) a plus COMPETENCIES:
