The Sr. Manager of IT DR leads the development, implementation and maintenance of Abbott’s DR Program to ensure quick and effective system and data recovery from any man-made or natural disasters and incidents.
Provides governance and oversights of Abbott’s IT DR program, including design and implementation of the company’s IT Recovery Policy 4-070, relevant methodologies, metrics and scorecards for all components of the program.
Overseas creation, implementation and maintenance of Business Impact Analysis, Disaster Recovery Plans and Tests across the company, ensuring well-sounded methodology, consistency and focus on continuous process improvement.
Manages the IT DR team, providing mentorship and career development opportunities to team members, ensuring adequate staffing and appropriate resource planning to meet the program’s demands
Serves as the company’s primary point of contact for all matters related to IT DR, ensuring effective partnership with divisions and corporate functions, providing guidance, resources and tools.
Partners and collaborates with Abbott Global Security Crisis Management to ensure program alignment.
Provides leadership for the IT Disaster Recovery Steering / Forum Committee
Works closely with the IT Crisis Action Team (CAT) leadership in the development and maintenance of IT CAT Plans, associated policies and procedures.
Manages existing IT DR Vendors, identifies emerging technologies and resources to meet the ever-changing needs of the company’s IT infrastructure
Maintains awareness of IT industry best practices for IT DR, and coordinate their implementation within Abbott.
Bachelor’s degree plus 12-15 years of relevant IT or Master’s degree plus 10-11 years of IT experience
Strong leadership skills
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Interaction with technical, non-technical and management staff
Ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat software
Business Continuity Certification is preferred
