Abbott Diagnostics Division is looking for a

Bioprocess Engineer (Bioverfahrenstechnik) (m/f/d) in Technical Operations

based in Wiesbaden.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and qualify new manufacturing processes and test methods in the production of in-vitro diagnostic assays.

  • Manage complex technical projects across several functions, cultures, and countries.

  • Independently identify and evaluate opportunities to improve manufacturing capability, quality, and cost.

  • Perform characterization and validation studies do identify and document critical process parameters and analytical performance characteristics.

  • Transfer processes from characterization phase to on-market phase, compliant with regulations and current good manufacturing practice (cGMP).

  • Support colleagues, share knowledge, and achieve team goals under pressure of tight timelines.

Your Profile:

  • University degree in Bioprocess Engineering or similar

  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in process engineering or technical roles in the biotech industry; advanced degrees in a relevant field may offset this requirement.

  • Extensive practical experience and expert knowledge in the following fields: fermentation & cell cultures, protein purification & chromatography, protein analysis, cross-linking and surface chemistry, molecular biotechnology, and immunology

  • Proven analytical and engineering skill set

  • Demonstrated business mindset and propensity for measured risk taking

  • Experienced in working and communicating effectively in teams with diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds

  • Advanced English language skills, and basic knowledge of German or demonstrated ability to learn another foreign language to fluent proficiency

  • Practical experience with current GMP, and ISO5 & ISO8 cleanrooms is highly desirable

  • Expertise in programming and working with databases is desirable
