Abbott Diagnostics is looking for an Area Manager Business Process Engineer EMEA m/f), based in Wiesbaden.
As the Area Manager - Business & Lab Process Engineer, you will be a part of a geographically dispersed team reporting into the Global Director – Business and Lab Process Engineer with a dotted line reporting to the Area Marketing Director. Your primary objective will be to lead the design and delivery of pre and post assessments at the customer site to quantify and prove the value of process and technology improvements. You will work directly with the customer to document and publish these proof assessments in a standardized and globally scalable fashion.
Collaborate with our healthcare customers externally and our local Technical Design Team Specialists and Professional Service Executives internally in the design and business process and operation method final proposal and implementation.
In concert with the Area Technical Design teams, recommend ways our customers can work more seamlessly, improve department systems and use technology to achieve overall improvement across a number of its objectives, such as, efficiency, cost savings, energy conservation, operator convenience, safety, quality; stakeholder satisfaction and key healthcare metrics such as time to diagnosis and treatment, length of stay, time to triage, etc.
Examine the way the lab organization operates, how it integrates into key clinical processes, understand its long-term performance goals, and diagnose problems with the organization's current methodology.
Work with customer to set measurable improvement targets and establish a method to quantify the value of those targets relative to their priorities and the healthcare institution’s stated objectives.
Responsible for the measurement and quantification of our customers’ efficiency and healthcare outcomes improvement (including health economic results across key stakeholders (patients, physicians, etc) and their healthcare organization.
Provide operational management information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating and engineering data and trends across all relevant sites globally.
Work with Abbott’s team in the redesign, and set up a way to monitor processes to ensure they are effective. Once the implemented changes are tested for their effectiveness, you may be asked to work to update and further improve solutions. As a business process engineer, you may also be involved in the implementation of new technologies to create automated and more efficient processes to drive greater and more consistent results/outcomes.

You will foster cross functional relationships to create a cooperative work environment in support of corporate goals
Bachelor's degree in clinical science or related science required. Masters in a process engineering or related fields preferred.
4+ work experience in operations management and/or business and process engineering in a healthcare setting experience required.
Experience as a Medical Technologist in a high volume clinical laboratory preferred. Should understand all sections of the laboratory (pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical).
ASCP, CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, and NCQA, certification and/or local equivalent preferred.
Trained in lean six sigma principles and project management
Proficiency in information technology.
Ability to gain and share knowledge regarding changing healthcare policies and therapeutic areas.
Experience in structured problem recognition, root cause analysis and creative problem solving a must
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
High integrity handling sensitive customer information
Ability to promote teamwork in a cross-functional teamwork setting.
Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills.
Well organized and detail oriented.
Ability to travel globally
