Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) is looking for a Head of Market Access Operations (m/f), based in Wiesbaden. The position holder will define and implement Market Access operational approach for the ADC portfolio with the aim of ensuring strong market penetration and accelerating current growth.

  • Shaping and orchestrating Contracting & Tendering and Pricing processes internally and within payer organizations

  • Lead cross-functional teams with leaders or members of Commercial Excellence, Legal, Finance, E-Commerce and Marketing team to ensure business integration of payer contracts and up-coming tender business

  • Position reports to the Director Market Access

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of dedicated Market Access and Pricing Managers

  • Create impactful action plans to address upcoming market access operational challenges. (e.g. tender business, competitor pricing, healthcare legislation

  • Perform deep pricing data analysis and support Director Market Access to build a journey from analysis to strategy to explore and establish new pricing models in collaboration with payers (risk sharing, performance-based pricing, combo pricing etc.)

  • Monitor and anticipate relevant reimbursement developments in the statutory and private payer segment in close collaboration with Healthcare Affairs and Regional Reimbursement team

  • Work closely with Commercial Excellence Team in forecasting market developments

  • Develop Market Access launch plans for new products with operational focus

  • Coordinate and lead central payer projects with the objective to penetrate market potential of key payer customers

  • Lead cross-functional task forces to ensure operational excellence in contract implementation, meeting tender business requirements and global pricing guidelines

  • Develop and provide periodic reports and analyses with respect to ADC`s market access activities and achievements.

Qualification:

  • Advanced degree in science, economics or related areas.

  • Ideally additional qualification in public health, health economics or health policy or other relevant executive training background.

  • At least 4 years of experience in pharma / medical device industry, health policy or related functions of payers / market access consultancies / disease management organizations (market access or related functional areas).

  • Deep understanding of the German public / private payer system.

  • Ability to analyze information, assess risk potential and develop appropriate operational plans based on these insights.

  • Proven record of executing impactful payer projects (contracting and adoption)

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills

  • Fluent in German and excellent English Skills

  • Travel up to 20%
