Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings. Our product portfolio includes Freestyle Libre, a recently launched system that is revolutionising how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We currently have an opportunity for a Supplier Account Manager to join our team based in Witney, Oxfordshire.

In this role, you will manage the procurement process for defined categories of materials and/or services to support manufacture of both Libre and Strip products at Witney and Donegal. Responsible for managing the overall relationship with selected suppliers and acting as the primary interface between those suppliers and internal functions, you will be involved in a variety of strategic procurement activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, contracting and development of strategies to support cost reduction, quality improvements and risk mitigation.

To be successful, you will be Degree qualified and ideally CIPS certified (Diploma level), or willing to obtain. You will ideally come from a procurement background, but you will bring a breadth of experience in supplier management, resolving issues and stakeholder management. You will also ideally bring project management experience, and exposure to manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate with be able to demonstrate experience of influencing cross-functional project teams both internally and externally, experience of cost reduction initiatives and the planning and implementation of change, and experience of building working relationships with a view to performance improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but interact on a wider business scale. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. You will also be happy with travelling for business needs, some of which will require nights away from home.
